BROWARD COUNTY, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2024) — Meet Ziva. An eight month old bloodhound in training to fulfill her important role of locating the most at risk missing individuals in Broward County; children and the elderly as well as those with special needs or mental health concerns.
Upon reaching 10 months of age and completing her training program, in South Carolina with the National Police Bloodhound Association certification process. Ziva will be ready to commence her lifesaving work.
Meet Ziva. Shes partnering up with BSO K. 19 Deputy Tony Sun after his K. 19 Companion Blue lost his battle with bone cancer recently Following her tracking session Ziva will undergo training to become a therapy dog as well offering an extra layer of support, for BSO and Broward County.
Deputy Sun and Ziva are set to work in the Tamarac district for BSOs team as part of the bloodhound unit alongside K 9 officers Ryley and Anthem from BSOs bloodhound team program supported by the Jimmy Ryce Center for Victims of Predatory Abduction in memory of the tragic loss of a young boy in Miami back, in 1995 with a mission to supply bloodhound services to law enforcement agencies nationwide.
