BROWARD COUNTY, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2024) — Notable weekly activity as reported by FWC patrolling areas in Broward County.

Livery Liar

Officer Beppel conducted an investigation at the George English Boat Ramp related to livery matters. Initially, the person being investigated provided a false name. However, Officer Beppel skillfully identified the person’s true identity and discovered an active felony warrant against them. In addition to that, the individual was also charged with multiple livery offenses. Consequently, Beppel arrested and booked the subject in Broward County jail based on both the felony warrant and livery charges.

Can’t We All Just Get Along?

Officer Favrot was on patrol in the Everglades Wildlife Management Area when they came across hunters who reported being harassed by another hunter while legally hunting on public land. Upon conducting an investigation into this matter, Officer Favrot found evidence confirming that one hunter had intentionally interfered with another person’s lawful hunting activities. As a result of this finding, the offending individual received a notice to appear citation for their intentional interference with game hunting.

Triggered

Officers Olivera and McCollin Davis were patrolling near Port Everglades Inlet when they decided to stop a vessel for a fisheries inspection. During their inspection, they discovered a gallon sized plastic bag filled with fish filets onboard. These filets were identified as triggerfish, yellowtail snapper and lane snapper. Consequently, the officers issued a notice to appear citation to the individual responsible for failing to maintain fish in whole condition.

No Plugs

While patrolling at the A 1 FEB Public Small Game Hunting Area, Officer Constance observed duck hunters leaving the marsh area. Suspecting potential violations of regulations regarding hunting equipment, Constance conducted a resource inspection which confirmed that one of these individuals did not have their shotgun properly plugged as required by law. Officer Constance gave that person a citation to appear in court for using an unmodified shotgun while hunting.

Tornado In Fort Lauderdale

A tornado occurred in Fort Lauderdale close to 2500 Las Olas Blvd. Officer Comartin arrived at the location, checked the situation and reported that there were no injuries but a few boats were damaged.
