Just before 8 p.m., Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies and Oakland Park Fire Rescue personnel responded to a hit-and-run crash near Northwest 38th Street and Northwest Ninth Avenue in Oakland Park. On scene, emergency crews located an adult female that had been hit by a vehicle. Detectives say the vehicle left the scene following the collision. The victim was pronounced deceased on scene. Detectives with BSO’s Traffic Homicide Unit were notified to investigate this active incident. The investigation continues.

The southbound traffic lanes on Powerline Road/N.W. Ninth Ave. between N.W. 38th Ave. and Prospect Road are shut down until further notice. Motorist are asked to seek alternate routes.
