Detectives Investigate Deadly Parking Lot Shooting

The Broward Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit detectives are looking into the details of a shooting incident that occurred in Pompano Beach.
At around 4;58 p.m on a Sunday evening in October 13th deputies from BSO and Pompano Beach Fire Rescue rushed to respond to an incident at a RaceTrac store situated at 599 W Atlantic Blvd where there was a disturbance followed by a shooting in the parking lot area. Upon arrival, at the scene medical responders found Brian Semil with a gunshot injury. Quickly transported him to Broward Health North for medical care where unfortunately he was later pronounced dead. BSOs Homicide and Crime Scene teams then arrived to investigate into this tragic event.
The initial inquiry shows that Semil attempted to enter a car with a mother and her children, inside it but was stopped by three men from doing so.The situation escalated to a point where one of the three individuals fired his gun and hit Semil.All parties involved in the incident stayed at the scene. Assisted the investigators.Detectives mentioned that once their investigation is done the case will be forwarded to the Broward County State Attorneys Office for evaluation.
