5 Teens Arrested For Violent Attack On Student At Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School

CORAL SPRINGS, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2023) — Coral Springs PD arrested 5 teens responsible for the violent attack on another student.

On December 14, 2023, the Coral Springs Police Department secured arrest orders for five individuals involved in a physical altercation that took place in the junior student parking lot at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, located within North Community Park, on December 12th. Our dedicated detectives, in collaboration with the Broward Sheriff’s Office and the Broward County State Attorney’s Office, have been working tirelessly to swiftly identify and apprehend those responsible. Each of the following individuals has been charged with felony battery, emphasizing the severity of their actions:

  • Sylvester Hicks Jr., a 16 year old student at Marjory Stoneman Douglas (currently in custody)
  • Jahmeer Beauziel, a 17 year old student at Marjory Stoneman Douglas (still outstanding)
  • Caleb Hensley, a 17 year old student at Marjory Stoneman Douglas (currently in custody)
  • Jordan Thompson, a 16 year old student at Marjory Stoneman Douglas (currently in custody)
  • Chinua Leefatt, a 15 year old student at Coral Glades High School (currently in custody)

Coral Springs Police tells us that ensuring the safety of our community and schools remains an utmost priority. Every day, Coral Springs Police Department assigns about 50 officers from various specialized units to patrol the areas around schools during dismissal. During this incident, Coral Springs Police had two patrol officers present at North Community Park during dismissal time. Coral Springs Police say this is an ongoing investigation and there is a possibility of additional arrests in the future. Coral Springs Police want to assure the public that such behavior will not be tolerated in Coral Springs. Coral Springs Police are grateful to the community members for their cooperation and support during this investigation.

Additionally, Coral Springs Police would like to remind everyone to promptly report any suspicious or concerning activity to them as needed.
