A pedestrian lost his life after a crash in Lauderdale Lakes Tuesday night and detectives from the Broward Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Unit are now investigating. According to the investigators before 8 p.m. On Oct. 7 Broward County Regional Communications logged a call reporting a vehicle‑pedestrian collision, in the 3600 block of West Oakland Park Boulevard. BSO deputies and Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue rushed to the scene. Preliminary findings indicate that Agness Flynn was walking northward across West Oakland Park Boulevard when she stepped into the path of an eastbound 2004 Honda CR‑V. The vehicle’s driver, Derrick Myers tried to swerve left to miss her. The collision could not be avoided. Flynn was pronounced dead at the scene. Myers, who sustained no injuries stayed on the scene. Cooperated fully with detectives. Following a review of the evidence detectives have determined that excessive speed wasn’t a contributing factor, in the crash. The investigation continues.
