Anthony D’Arduini Jr. Arrested, Charged With Reckless Driving
BOCA RATON, FL – Boca Post (BocaPost.com) — Anthony D’Arduini Jr. of West Boca Raton has been arrested and charged with reckless driving, according to jail records released to Boca Post by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.
Anthony D’Arduini Jr., 21, of the 10000 block of Riverbend Terrace in the Woodstream community in West Boca Raton, has been arrested by the Florida Highway Patrol.
According to the arrest affidavit submitted by FHP, a trooper observed two vehicles, a dark gray in color 4-door sedan with a Navy Vanity tag from Florida and a white in color Infinity 4-door sedan, enter the highway and proceed to accelerate at an extreme rate of speed. The trooper reports that both vehicles were actively trying to pass each other and swerving around vehicles to pass each other. The trooper estimated the speed of the Infiniti, driven by D’Arduini, to be 112 MPH in a posted 65 MPH zone.
The trooper attempted to overtake both vehicles but had a hard time catching up to both vehicles as they kept accelerating to even more extreme speeds and the roads were wet at the time. As both vehicles were passing 10th Avenue North, they then blew past a trooper who was parked on the side of the highway with his emergency lights activated at a whopping 120 MPH in the 65 MPH zone.
The trooper passed the gray 4-door sedan that reportedly slowed down dramatically after the unknown driver saw the marked patrol vehicle pass him by his left side. The trooper reported that he continued to overtake the Infiniti Q50 4-door sedan. The vehicle continued traveling south passing 6th Avenue where the trooper estimated the speed of the vehicle to be 138 MPH in a posted 65 MPH zone. At that time, the vehicle “continued to weave-in-and-put of traffic making lane changes.” The trooper notes that D’Arduini used his turn signal appropriately as he was swerving around vehicles.
The trooper caught up with the Infiniti just north of Lantana Road, the vehicle which was traveling in the inside lane and swerved from the inside lane across 6 lanes into the outside lane which was the exit ramp to Lantana Road. The trooper observed the vehicle fail to stop for a red traffic signal and make a very abrupt and sharp turn heading west on Lantana Road.
The trooper reports that the vehicle was then observed going 100 MPH in a posted 45 MPH zone. After some lane changes, the trooper approached the vehicle from behind. Once the light turned green D’Arduini made a U-turn to go east on Lantana Road as the trooper followed him and activated the emergency lights to pull him over. D’Arduini then pulled over into an empty parking lot.
The trooper reports that D’Arduini that he as then arrested D’Arduini who was said to be cooperative.
D’Arduini was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail at 3:17 AM on Friday, October 21st, 2022, and released later without bond.
