Debra Gudema Arrested For Dui After Crashing Into A West Boca Residence

BOCA RATON, FL – Boca Post (BocaPost.com) — A Boca Raton woman was arrested for DUI-UNLAW BLD ALCH – DUI DAMAGE TO PROPERTY OR PERSON OF ANOTHER, according to jail records released to Boca Post by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.

Debra Gudema, 42, of Boca Raton’s Broken Sound neighborhood, has been arrested early Thursday morning by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office. Boca Post has learned that Debra Gudema sits on the Board of Trustees at Temple Beth El as the Vice President Of the Early Learning Center.

According to an arrest affidavit submitted by Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the area of 19695 Sedgefield Terrace in West Boca in response to a vehicle accident at approximately 12 AM.

A witness, who wishes to remain anonymous, called 911 when she heard a commotion and observed Gudema’s dark-colored vehicle in the bushes of a residence behind her house. The witness reported that she approached the vehicle to ask Gudema if she needed any help. The witness reports that she could hear Gudema accelerating the vehicle.

PBSO deputies responded and requested assistance from the DUI unit when they suspected Gudema may be under the influence.

The DUI investigator arrived and performed a field sobriety test that the education leader failed. Gudema told the investigator she had two glasses of wine before she left her friend’s house. Gudema estimated the time to be 11 PM when it was actually 1 AM.

Gudema provided a breath sample to which she failed, blowing a .182 and .186. The legal requirement for a DUI in Florida is .08 BAC.

Gudema was booked by PBSO at 4:37 on Thursday morning. Court records indicate Gudema has been released without bond. Gudema has a court date scheduled for 6/9/22.
