Lopez Fabian Perales Of Boca Raton Arrested
BOCA RATON, FL – Boca Post (BocaPost.com) — A Boca Raton teenager is in jail after being arrested by Boca Raton Police for several theft and firearms charges.
Police responded to the area of 300 SW 8th for a burglary to an auto where someone reported that their vehicle had been burglarized and gave police the suspect’s description. Police quickly located a person matching the description in the area at around 4:30 AM. The suspect, later identified as 19-year-old Lopez Perales, was observed riding a bike near 1300 W Glades Road.
Police pulled him over for not having a light on his bicycle while riding in the dark. Perales then ran from the officer and fled into the parking lot of Beth Ami Congregation while carrying an orange backpack. Another officer on the other side of the lot was able to catch Perales and arrest him without incident.
A search of the backpack provided officers with a fully loaded Glock 9MM handgun with a round in the chamber and a bottle of vodka. Perales told Police that he stole the firearm for protection for himself and his family. The gun was stolen from under the steering column of a truck. Police later contacted the owner.
While in Police Custody, a BRPD detective had some questions for him about the theft of a white Mercedes GT53 AMG in December. Perales was “Wanted for Questioning” for a recent auto theft. Specifically, detectives wanted to know why his fingerprints were found all over the inside of the vehicle that had already previously been recovered.
