Boca Post recently reported on the famous tree that recently won an International Award which prompted some interesting questions on social media. We have some answers about the 100-foot tree that maybe you did not know:

Is the 100-foot tree real?

According to the City of Delray Beach, one of the most common questions they receive is, “Is the tree actually real?”

While it may not have originated from nature itself, the effort and dedication put into constructing it are undeniably real. The volunteers take immense pride in their work and the tree has witnessed countless genuine moments of joy. From those first Christmases to unforgettable dates and proposals, it has served as a true catalyst for bringing our community together. The memories created around this tree and the family traditions associated with it are undoubtedly authentic.

Therefore, in response to whether the tree is real or not, the answer is yes, it is indeed real.

I LOVE the tree, but WHY October?

Ever hear the phrase “Rome wasn’t built in a day”? The same can be said about Santa’s village.

The construction of the tree structure, both the interior and exterior of the houses within the tree, usually takes approximately 10 to 14 days. After that stage is finished, our dedicated volunteers and staff members will ensure that every nook and cranny inside the tree and each of its six houses are adorned with delightful festive decorations down to the tiniest details. Although it may appear finished from an outsider’s perspective, perfecting all those intricate interior elements typically requires about a month’s worth of meticulous work.

How is the 100-foot tree made?

The frame of the tree is made up of aluminum sections. When these sections are assembled, they form rings, with each ring being smaller than the previous one. After completing each ring, they are carefully lifted by a crane and stacked on top of each other to create the shape of a tree. And naturally, the star is placed as the final touch.

How long has Delray Beach been putting the 100-foot tree up?

The 100-foot Christmas Tree has been a tradition in Delray Beach since 1993.

How many Christmas lights are on the 100-foot tree?

At last count, there were 18,000 ornaments and 217,980 LED lights on the 100-foot Christmas Tree.

How much does it cost to enter the 100-foot tree?

It is free to enter the 100-Foot Christmas tree. Not all of the Holiday Village activities are free. The Holiday Carousel is $4 per ride. Ice Skating is $4. An all-day wristband is $12. Photos with Santa cost $12 per photo. For more information please see the City’s website.
