Heading to the park on January 15th for a workout session or to catch your childs game of pickleball? Just a heads up. There have been reports of thieves targeting parks not to exercise. To steal personal belongings in Broward Sheriffs Office Parkland District recently. Since November year until now, at Pine Trails Park and Terramar Park alone there have been five incidents of theft. In these situations individuals were engaged in sports activities when robbers pilfered devices. Primarily cellphones. Either from their bags or from the bleachers nearby. The victims involved varied in age with some being adults and others juveniles. Currently detectives at BSO are delving into these incidents. Relying heavily upon public assistance to crack the cases. It’s crucial for the public to bear in mind key pointers when it comes to safeguarding their belongings while exercising or enjoying a visit to a park ; • Keep it simple. Bring only personal items, along when heading to the park. • Make sure to have your car keys and phone on you all the time. • Store your personal belongings, in the locked car where they can’t be seen. • Stay vigilant while you’re working out or keeping an eye on your kids; be mindful of whats around you. Parents should also remind their children about these guidelines. Kids should be reminded to keep their gadgets in a spot and not bring them to the park when they are practicing or playing. If you notice anything or concerning around you make sure to inform the authorities about it right awayy..
