A young man, Lawan Jones Jr., surrendered to authorities in connection with the tragic death of Keith Bryan Poole, a resident of Pompano Beach. The incident took place on Northeast 28th Street, where Poole was found with fatal gunshot wounds. Law enforcement responded swiftly to the scene following a shooting report and rushed Poole to Broward Health North, but unfortunately, he did not survive his injuries. The suspect’s arrest brings closure to this heartbreaking case.Witnesses reported that the shooting incident occurred when Poole discovered social media posts by Jones that he deemed inappropriate. Witnesses mentioned that Jones and Poole engaged in a dispute which escalated into a shooting. Jones then fled the scene with his girlfriend, Jessie Poole.
After an extensive search, Jones surrendered himself at the BSO West Park District Office and is now facing a charge of first degree murder with a firearm. Following his arrest, he was taken to Broward County Main Jail. Jessie Poole was also found safe.
