At approximately 5:35 p.m., Broward County Regional Communications was notified of a possible disturbance involving a firearm. At some point during the response, deputies made contact with the individual and a deputy-involved shooting occurred. The individual was pronounced deceased on scene. No other injuries have been reported.
The media staging area is in the parking lot of Church’s Chicken located at 2401 W. Sunrise Boulevard.
