The Broward Sheriff’s Office is currently looking into an accident that took the life of a man in Deerfield Beach last Sunday morning around 11;42 a.m. specifically at the intersection of Southwest 10th Street and Waterways Boulevard as reported to Broward County Regional Communications dispatchers. Deputies from the Broward Sheriffs Office and firefighters from Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue rushed to the scene upon receiving the call about a collision involving a motorcycle and a vehicle. Investigators, from BSOs Traffic Homicide Unit were also called in to examine the details of the incident. Based on the inquiry findings reported by officials; a person riding a 2022 Kawasaki Ninja ZX 6R motorcycle was heading east on Southwest 10th Street near Waterways Boulevard while Yvette Araujo was behind the wheel of a 2018 Subaru Forester stopped westbound at the Waterways Boulevard intersection and getting ready to turn left onto Waterways Boulevard heading southward. According to investigators statements; when the Subaru began its left turn maneuver across the road in front of the Kawasaki motorcycles path and as a result of this action sequence there was a collision between the Kawasaki and the Subaru, on their passenger sides. The motorcyclist was thrown into the passenger area of the Subaru before the car flipped over.The paramedics declared the motorcyclist deceased at the scene.Emergency responders took the Subaru driver to a hospital with minor injuries.According to officials excessive speed by the motorcyclist is believed to have played a role in the accident.The investigation is still, in progress.
