The Broward Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit detectives worked alongside BSO’s V.I.P.E.R investigators to apprehend three individuals in connection with Ammon Watsons murder in August of year. The tragic incident took place at noon on Saturday, August 24 2024 near Northwest 28th Street in Oakland Park. Deputies, from Brow ard Sheriff’s Office and Oakland Park Fire Rescue promptly responded to the scene where they found a man who had been shot in a driveway.Deputies acted swiftly to set up a boundary. Searched the vicinity thoroughly after the unfortunate incident involving the victim named Watson who was declared deceased at the scene by authorities present there at that time. As per the findings of the investigators involved in the case review process; it was revealed that the assailant approached Watson while he was on a driveway of a property and carried out the fatal shooting before fleeing on foot from the scene. Subsequent to inquiries into this tragic event; Ta’Narine Hamilton along with Khalil Elie and Morris King Jr were pinpointed as potential suspects in connection, with this homicide case which led to issuance of warrants for their arrests. Hamilton had already been taken into custody; Elie was apprehended on Monday the 16th of June and King Jr was found in Sunrise on Thursday the 10th of July and then admitted to BSO Main Jail for booking purposes. All three individuals are charged with one count of first degree felony murder as the investigation progresses.
