Rosa Angelica Cruz Maldonado Of Lantana Arrested For Aggravated Child Abuse

LANTANA, FL (Boca Post) — Rosa Angelica Cruz Maldonado of Lantana has been arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated child abuse, according to jail records released to Boca Post by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.

Rosa Angelica Cruz Maldonado, 35, of the 6000 block of Groday Cay Terrace in Lantana, has been arrested early Wednesday evening by the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office. Boca Post has been notified that the charge filed is “827.03(2A) CHILD ABUSE AGGRAVATED (DOMESTIC)”.

According to an arrest affidavit submitted by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to an aggravated child abuse call at Maldonado’s residence in Lantana.

Deputies found Maldonado upset with two young girls because one of them, who was reportedly very young, was putting fake nails on.  The girls say that Maldonado hit both girls with an extension cord, leaving visible redness, abrasions, and swelling. Maldonado says that one of the girls took the cord away from her and hit her back with it.

One of the girls, who had a bloody nose, said she was struck in the back of the head with an unidentified object as well. The other girl showed deputies an injury on her back left by a spoon Maldonado used to hit her with.

Both girls were transported to JFK for treatment and DCF was notified for an immediate response, according to deputies.

Maldonado was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail at 11:24 on Wednesday night. Maldonado was released without bond the following day.
