Florida Atlantic University Student Charged With Selling Drugs On Campus – Sebastian Sargeant Arrest Report

BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) — A Florida Atlantic University student was arrested by FAU Police on multiple felony drug charges for allegedly selling drugs on FAU campus.

Sebastian Lee Sargeant, 19, of Culbreath Avenue in Tampa, was arrested by FAU police on two separate felony drug charges. Sargeant is a student at FAU who lives on campus in the Glades Park Towers which are located at 921 Indian River Street in Boca Raton.

According to a police report submitted to the PBC county clerk by FAU Police, Sargeant and another individual were approached by Police who suspected that they were smoking marijuana in Sargeant’s car. Police say they saw large amounts of smoke coming from inside of the vehicle with the two inside. That confrontation eventually led to a search of Sargeant’s car when officers discovered a large amount of marijuana, pills, a scale, empty Ziploc bags, and large amounts of cash.

Police found more than 9 jars full of Marijuana which is reportedly being tested and weighed by PBSO. Police also report that they found approximately 143 Xanax and Adderall pills. The other individual was released from custody as police decided his involvement was minimal.

Social Media indicates that Sargeant is a student at FAU and was previously a notable high school basketball star in Tampa where he graduated from Plant High School in 2021. It is unclear at this time if he has any involvement with the FAU basketball program. FAU Police has not responded to Boca Post’s request for comment.

Amphetamines, which are prescribed to treat ADHD, are commonly abused by college students for cognitive performance enhancement. The common abuse of Adderall and other amphetamines has created a hot market for selling the drug, especially at exam time.

Sargeant was arrested by FAU Police, transported to the PBSO jail, and later released on a $15,000 bond. Sargeant is now facing the following charges:

  • AMPHETAMINE-SELL – WI 1000FT COLLEGE SCHD II III IV
  • DRUGS-SELL – WI 1000FT COLLEGE SCHD III/IV
