27 Year Old Coral Springs Man Shot And Killed. 27 Year Old Lauderhill Man Arrested.

CORAL SPRINGS, FL (Boca Post) — A 27 year old Lauderhill man is behind bars today and is being charged with 1st degree murder following his arrest by the Coral Springs Police Department.

As first reported by Boca Post, on January 9th, 2022, early in the morning, a 27 year old Coral Springs man shot and killed in front of his home. An arrest has since been made in connection with that murder.

Carl Auguste, 27, of Lauderhill, was arrested on Wednesday, January 12th, 2022 in connection with that murder.

Coral Springs Police Department has made a statement expressing that the victim was targeted by the suspect and the murder was not a random incident. Police are expressing that this is an isolated incident in which the victim was targeted.

Ryan Gallagher, Captain of Coral Springs Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit, states that the victim exchanged gunfire with the suspect. The suspect was later dropped off at Florida Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale where he was treated for multiple gunshot wounds to his leg.

Gallagher says his team was able to make contact with the suspect and take him in to custody. The vehicle used in the crime was also located and is now in the possession of Coral Springs Police Department.

It is unclear at this time if the driver of the vehicle seen in the video has been arrested but Gallagher says the investigation is ongoing.

Auguste is in custody of BSO jail facing the following charges:

  • MURDER IN THE FIRST DEGREE WITH A FIREARM
  • AGG BATTERY INTENDED HARM
  • PROBATION VIOLATION OR COMMUNITY CONTROL/FELONY
  • BURGL UNOCC DWELLING/ GRAND THEFT, 300 L/ 5,000
  • AGG BATTERY W/ DEADLY WEAPON
