Boca Raton Woman Arrested For Enhanced Dui

BOCA RATON, FL – Boca Post (BocaPost.com) — A resident of the Enclave at Boca Dunes has been arrested for an enhanced DUI early on Wednesday morning, according to jail records released to Boca Post by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.

A woman who resides in the Enclave of Buca Dunes, a townhome and golf community in West Boca Raton, has been arrested early Wednesday morning by the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office. Boca Post has been notified that the charge filed is “DUI-UNLAW BLD ALCH – 0.15 OR HIGHER OR W PERSON UNDER 18 IN VEHICLE”.

The enhanced DUI the woman was charged with is usually used when someone’s BAC is much higher than the .08 legal limit; however, it can also be used for other reasons such as having a child in the car.

The woman was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail at 3:54 on Wednesday morning. According to court records, the woman has been released without bond later that morning.

Some of the narratives from the PBSO arrest report can be found below:

On June 29th, 2022, at approximately 0022 hours, while on uniformed patrol in a marked Palm Beach County Sheriff’s (PBSO) Vehicle, I was on an assist to another department, for water management, when they advised me someone was sitting at the green light for multiple light rotations.

Upon arrival, I observed a white female, in the driver’s seat of a white vehicle sitting in the middle lane, not moving, while the light was green. While walking up to the vehicle I observed the woman’s head to be back on the headrest, no hands on the steering wheel, and eyes closed. When approaching the driver’s window, the white female later identified as x, moved her head forward, opened her eyes, and began to move around, not noticing me at her window. I yelled out to x to “Put the car in park” and she began to look around the car in confusion. x then looked down at the shifter, pointed at it, and used her hand to push, but was unable to until she pressed the button to do so. x then opened the window and observed glossy eyes, the smell of alcohol coming from her face and mouth. x was asked if she was okay, and she then smiled, looked at me, then began looking forward and grabbed the steering wheel. x was asked again if she was okay, but began to mumble, smiled, and nodded up and down. x stated she was going to “Boca” but was driving South on SW 18th and Powerline which lead to Broward.

Investigator Pointu #16032 was called to take over the investigation.

x said she had two mixed drinks at a Japanese restaurant two hours earlier. Post Miranda, she said he had a glass of wine than two Lytchee Martinis. She admitted she was not in a condition to drive her vehicle and should have sought alternate transport instead.
